【导读】
1.不定式作状语
(1)不定式作目的状语,即to do ...表示“为了……”。
e.g. He is saving up______(buy) a new computer.他在攒钱要买一台新电脑。
(2)不定式前面加上in order to或so as to,否定形式in order to/ not to do…和so as to/ not to do…的形式,其中so as to/not to do...的结构不置于句首。
e.g. She worked very hard in order not to lose this chance.
她工作的很努力,为了不失去这次机会。
(3)不定式表示目的时,通常它的逻辑主语就是句子的主语,但如果不是的话,就要用for...结构表示逻辑主语。
e.g. 我带来一些杂志以便这些孩子阅读。
I brought here several magazines _________________to read.
The teachers are using new teaching methods for students to make greater progress.
这些老师正在使用新的教学方法以便学生取得更大的进步。
(4)不定式还可以作结果或原因状语
①表结果:
e.g. The hall is large enough to hold two hundred people. 这个大厅非常大,足够容纳200人。
【导思】她去了国外,再也没有回来。________________________________
这男孩太小还不能去上学。The boy is ________ young ________ (go) to school.
②表原因:
e.g She was surprised to hear the news. 听到这个消息,她很吃惊。
【导思】你的车失而复得,一定非常高兴。
You must be very happy_______ ______( find) your lost car.
2.结果状语从句
(1)so...that... 和such...that...(如此……以至于……)
引导的结果状语从句。
她那么可爱,我们都非常喜欢她。
It was such a frightening snake that no one dared get close to it.
这条蛇很吓人,结果无人敢接近它。
(2)so 的后面跟形容词或副词。
e.g. She was so tired that she went to bed without any supper.
(3)such 后面跟名词。
This is such an easy question that a child can answer it.

(4)so many/much/few/little + n. 是固定搭配,表示“如此多/少……”,其中,many, few修饰可数名词,much, little修饰不可数名词。
There was so little food left that we had to starve the next day.
只有这么一点食物,我们第二天不得不挨饿了。
I haven’t seen such little animals eat so many insects.
我从没见过这么小的动物吃这么多的昆虫。
(5)某些不定式作状语的句子可转换成结果状语从句
e.g. She is such a good student as to be liked by all her classmates.
= She is such a good student ___________________________________.
她是非常好的学生,所有的同学都喜欢她。
